The latest and last BAR prototype, version 0.5 (March 2006), is now available from the following link:

The release implements the updated BAR end-to-end specification. Please read the INSTALL.txt file in the distribution to install and configure the software.

This release includes the following services:

• Reservation Services
  • Reserve bandwidth
  • Query a reservation
  • Cancel a reservation
• Activation Services
  • Activate a Guaranteed Deadline File Transfer reservation (GDFT)
  • Activate a Virtual Leased Line reservation (VLL)
  • Query an activated service
  • Cancel an activated service

• linking Activations with their associated Reservations
• returns service type specific responses, e.g., when a user queries a Reservation or an Activation at a later date, the type of the Reservation or the Activation is returned.

• GDFT Reverse Bandwidth rounding off bug
• Enforcing minimum/maximum (10 kbps/1Gbps) bandwidth policy
• Calculation of bandwidths in bps instead of kbps for improved accuracy

Please try out the prototype and provide us with your feedback. We tried to make the installation and configuration as simple as possible by providing an installation guide (INSTALL.txt) and an Ant based installer that deploys a JSP client, BAR and L-NSAP to Tomcat/Axis installations. The prototype is tested on the following platforms:

• Mircosoft Windows XP/2000
• Scientific Linux 3.0.3
• Red Hat Linux 9
• Sun Solaris 8.0
